Illegal immigration places a massive burden on our tax dollars and compromises the safety of our families. As a father and conservative, Cody has zero tolerance for dangerous criminals who cross our border and the so-called ‘Sanctuary Cities’ that put liberal agendas over the safety of Texans. Cody stands for enforcing our nation’s immigration laws and supports the border wall 100%. He will stop our taxpayer-funded resources from going to illegal immigrants and will stand with President Trump and Governor Abbott in toughening border security.
CUT PROPERTY TAXES
Cody Harris is the only candidate with a plan to LOWER property taxes. Texas has the third highest property taxes in America, behind New Jersey and Illinois. Cody knows Texas can do better. Cody founded his business, Liberty Land and Ranch, to help rural landowners realize the American dream, but has witnessed that dream jeopardized by skyrocketing property taxes. That’s why he wants to give voters the power to veto their tax bills by election and will work to cut property taxes.
PROTECT RURAL SCHOOLS
As a product of our schools and the father of three local school boys, Cody knows that education is critical for our rural community. We know how best to educate our kids, not bureaucrats in Austin. That’s why he supports increased local control and proper funding for our classrooms - so our students and teachers have the resources they need to excel. Cody serves on the important House Public Education Committee that oversees public schools in the state of Texas. He opposes a statewide private school voucher program that could weaken our local schools and send our tax dollars to private Islamic schools in the big cities.
UPHOLD THE SECOND AMENDMENT
Just recently, a former liberal Supreme Court Justice suggested the Second Amendment should be overturned. That will NEVER happen on Cody’s watch. Cody is a constitutional conservative who believes wholeheartedly in the right to keep and bear arms. Endorsed by both the NRA and the Texas State Rifle Association, we can be sure Cody will stand for our right to protect our families.

For too long, cities have abused their power and forcibly annexed neighborhoods against the will of residents. Cody will always stand up to this kind of overreach and protect private property from all government encroachment.

Growing up here, Cody woke up at 5 am on his families’ farm to pick produce and sell it by the side of the road. He did it to help his family make ends meet. He understands the full value of agriculture to our community and will fight to preserve and protect our farmers and ranchers. Endorsed by the Texas Farm Bureau, Cody has worked the land his whole life and is the only candidate in this race who understands the issues facing our rural communities. The proposed high-speed rail through our district will force people off their land and waste MILLIONS of taxpayer dollars. That land belongs to the landowners—not corporations or special interest groups—and those dollars could be used to properly fund our public schools. Cody fully opposes the project and will fight in Austin until the plan is scrapped entirely.

Government doesn’t create jobs, people do. As a successful local business owner, Cody knows we need to shrink the size of government and promote free-market principles to create jobs and stimulate economic growth.
